"Tropical Joe" shirt and trousers with King For Men "Bucket"
hats |
|
![]() |
|
The King For Men Bucket hats are by designer Kerem Lunt. In the pack are four colours: light brown, green, brown and black. The hats seem to be made of translucent stiffened gauze with good texture, moulded into a hat shape, in two layers giving a thickness to the appearance. The light brown one is worn in images 1, 3, 4 and 5. For the other hat colours, I have swapped the Tropical Joe shirt for a different one sympathetic to the colour of the hat. In image 6, PeeWee is wearing the green hat with a Metro Men army-green deep v-neck t-shirt (designer: Elmo Emu). In image 7, with the brown hat, he has on a Redgrave Palha shirt and pullover combination (designer: Talyssa Collins). Finally, in image 8, wearing the black King For Men hat, PeeWee has on an INDI Designs black pinstriped shirt (designer: Jamie Holmer). In image 9, you can see all four
hats in a composite picture. The shirt is now a Macho golden flair
shirt by Savy Sands. |

In the above picture, the avatar shape in the middle image of the three is one which I created myself. I call this the "PeeWee" shape, and it is what defines my avatar, making it different from all others. As a starting point, I used a shape which I obtained as a freebie called Ricardo. This is shown in left-hand image above. I worked on this shape using the appearance editor, gradually changing it until I achieved the shape I wanted for my avatar. This is great fun, and what you are achieving is something unique. It is important that the shape you start from has modify permission. Below left, and below right are the full-face and profile close-ups of my final PeeWee shape. A shape is determined by 77 parameters each of which can set in the range 0 to 100. To see a list of all 77 parameters click here. The Second Life appearance editor allows one to alter the parameter values, one at a time, viewing the results as you go. To change the Ricardo shape into the PeeWee shape, I altered 41 of the parameters, leaving the other 36 as they were. I should just mention that the right-hand shape above, which I call Mr-fifty-per-cent, was obtained by setting all the parameters to 50, the middle of the permitted range. Image 4 is a composite showing the three full-face close-ups side by side. Image 5 shows the three profiles. Most of the changes I made were to the face. In the face profile, I made PeeWee have a larger nose, more pronounced brow ridge, and stronger chin (see image 5). In the full-face view, I gave PeeWee a wider nose, squarer jaw, fuller lips, and closer-set eyes than were in the original Ricardo shape (see image 4). For example, for the Eye Spacing parameter, I changed the value from 53 to 23 because I found the eyes were much too far apart for my ideal. For the rest of the body, the most significant change I made was to the avatar height. The original setting was 83 which translates to a height of 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 metres). I changed this to 70 which is equivalent to 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 metres). In the video, you can see the avatar
morphing between shapes, starting with Ricardo, changing to
PeeWee, then to Mr-fifty-per-cent, then back to PeeWee
again. |

Meriken Co "Gingham" grey suit and other items from Meriken Co. |
|
![]() |
|
The Gingham trousers have prim turnups which reveal blue and white striped lining on the wrong side of the suit cloth. The Meriken Co grey polka-dot shirt, worn here in the tucked version, is available in other colours at the store. It can be worn long (see image 6). The Meriken Co shoes are Woo in grey suede with green trim; they have excellent detail. The same shoe is available in tan leather (not illustrated here, but will appear in a later item). The Meriken Co navy-coloured straw hat has very good texture. The same hat in natural straw colour can be seen in images 8, 9 and 10. Another very attractive Meriken Co
shirt - the Elese in blue diamond pattern - can be seen in
images 7, 8 and 9. The Elese shirt can be worn tucked or long
and is available in other colours at the store. Finally, Meriken Co black-striped
Moire trousers can be seen in images 8 onwards. These
very attractive low-rise trousers are also provided on the underpants
layer - figure-hugging for tucking into boots (not illustrated here). |

DE Designs "Camel Hair" coat, "Onyx Oxford" shirts,
and "Rogue" cargo cords |
|
![]() |
|
The Camel Hair sports coat is on the jacket layer and has good texture. It appears below right and in image 5. The Rogue corduroy cargo pants came in a pack along with a DE Designs Rogue black t-shirt with tan flaming head motif. In image 6, the jacket has been removed revealing the t-shirt more clearly. The t-shirt is tucked on the shirt layer. The cargo pants have a black belt with silver buckle which can bee seen clearly in image 6, and, for a rear view, in image 7. The Onyx Oxford shirts
come in five colours which can be bought separately or as a combined
pack. The colours are burgundy, charcoal, cream, slate and white, which
are all very attractive. The shirts are provided on the jacket layer
to be worn long covering the top part of the trousers. They cannot be
worn tucked or under a jacket. The shirts are provided in versions with
long or short sleeves. See image 8 for the slate shirt worn with long
sleeves. The short-sleeved versions can be worn as they are - see image
9 for the short-sleeved burgundy shirt worn over the black t-shirt.
However, there are rolled sleeve prims provided for use with the short-sleeved
shirts as worn above with the cream shirt. Image 10 is a composite picture
showing all five colours of shirt in the short-sleeved versions with
rolled sleeve prims. |

The pullovers come in two versions - one combined with a buttoned shirt (as shown above), the other alone - so there are six pullovers altogether (3 x 2 = 6). The pullovers are obviously only intended to be worn under the jacket because the pullover sleeves have no texture and their only purpose is to act as shaper for the jacket sleeves giving them body. In image 7 can be seen the tan jacket with the chocolate pullover. For the chocolate jacket with the green pullover see image 8, which shows that the shirt combined with the green pullover is an olive colour. In the rest of the images I have
combined the ZEN-WS clothing with other items borrowed from elsewhere.
In image 9, PeeWee is wearing a shirt/tie combination from the Sartoria
S21 Portofino pink suit (designer: traveller
Bade) underneath the tan jacket.. Because this shirt/tie combination
is worn on the shirt layer it is not possible to wear the sleeve shaper
which also occupies the same layer, so the jacket sleeves appear tight.
In the next one (image 10), PeeWee is wearing a shirt with Ascot tie
from the Cattivo Englishman suit (designer: Lissa Maertens),
and as this one is worn on the undershirt layer, I have been able to
use with it a sleeve shaper borrowed from a Made Men suit (designer:
Rockwell Maltz). Next, in image 11 the jacket has been
removed which reveals the detail on the upper part of the ZEN-WS trousers.
The shirt here is another one from the Englishman suit, this
time collarless and with the Ascot worn in a different way. Finally,
in image 12 the shirt worn is in 'coffebean' from the Warms Velvets
range (designer: Dan Senyurt). |

The four blazer colours are 'obsidian', 'gun steel', 'ochre' and 'olive'. The three coloured shirts are collarless and come in buttoned and open-neck versions; the colours are 'steel', 'ivory' and 'rust'. The white dress shirt has two versions - one with collar attached and buttoned, the other collarless and unbuttoned for which there is a separate prim collar. The flexi ties are in 'avocado', 'red', 'salmon' and 'terra cotta'. The two jeans, which have lower leg prim sections, are 'black' and 'blue'. The two pairs of shoes are Cattivo Captoe Oxford in 'obsidian' and 'tawny suede'. In the opening images (above and below) the clothes modelled are: 'obsidian' blazer, 'steel' buttoned shirt, 'black' jeans, and 'obsidian' shoes. The grey felt fedora (trilby) hat is very good but will not accomodate a prim hairstyle, so I have used a skin with integral scalp hair (the MM TanSkin bearded - see item 68 above for information about skins). In image 4, PeeWee is wearing the 'Ochre' blazer, and the open-neck shirt in 'rust'. The hat has been removed, and PeeWee's hairstyle is now Sirena Corporate in 'Chestnut' (designer: Natalia Zelmanov). In image 5, the blazer is in 'gun steel', the shirt is the buttoned one in 'ivory', and the jeans are now the 'blue' ones. The shoes have been changed to the 'tawny suede' ones which can be seen in image 6. The final blazer colour which is 'olive' can be seen in image 7 where the shirt worn is the white dress collar-attached buttoned shirt. Also worn is the flexi tie in 'terra cotta'. In the final picture (image 8),
PeeWee is wearing the open-neck white dress shirt with prim collar. |

In the first pictures, PeeWee is wearing the long version of the shirt in 'mocha' with short sleeves and rolled sleeve prims. There are tucked as well as long versions of the shirts, and also versions with long sleeves. The shirts are provided on all layers for maximum flexibility in wear. The five colours for the shirt are 'mocha', 'white', 'black', 'blue' and 'red'. All five colours can be seen in a composite picture in image 10. The shirts have very good texture, and each shirt is made in an individual patterned fabric. In image 9, featuring the red shirt, PeeWee has donned his DE Designs Camel Hair sports coat which was featured in item 65 above. The corduroy trouser colours are
'brown' (images 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10), 'grey' (images 5 and 6) and 'tan'
(images 8 and 9). The grey trousers (actually nearly white) go very
well with the white Windsor shirt, as can be seen in images
5 and 6, which also show the detail of the black trousers belt. |
